Background
History
Since 2002, the
CVSDude team team has proudly served as the original provider of free and commercial Subversion and CVS hosting to software engineers, graphic designers, and documentarians worldwide. The service was founded in London in 2002 as a means of allowing project development with overseas colleagues. At the time, CVSDude was the only free, private CVS server in existence. Through word of mouth the website attracted over 250 users within 6 months. The webpage was redesigned in March 2004, and again in September 2005, over which period all customer data was moved offsite to servers housed in US-based data centers. Today CVSDude has grown into a leading provider of specialist source code hosting services and project management tools, serving over 2,000
commercial customers worldwide, including individuals, small startup businesses, open source teams, and Fortune 500 companies. CVSDude was awarded a prestigious COMET Australian Business grant in 2006 and the University of Queensland, Business School's $100,000
Enterprise business plan competition award in 2007. Founder, Mark Bathie was also awarded the inaugural
Richard Joel young export entrepreneur of the year award in 2007, at the Queensland Premiers export awards. We are now a team of 7 staff and growing, with a strong focus on customer service, technology and security.

Logo
The Australian Green Tree Frog (commonly known as "White's Tree Frog") featured in the CVSDude logo is native to Australia and New Guinea, but today
is distributed all over the world. During the early development of the CVSDude system, a large green tree frog was featured on wall poster overhanging the
workstation where much of the coding occurred, and came to symbolize the hard work and passion required to build the system and grow the company. The frog also represents our commitment to helping improve the Australian and global environment (see below). For more information, see
